     William Whiting was baptized at Cambridge, Middlesex, Mass, on 19 February 1659.4 He married, first, in Hartford, Hartford, Conn on 6 October 1686 Mary Allyn, daughter of John Allyn and Ann/Hannah Smith.5 He married, second, in Newport, RI, on 31 January 1725/26 Ann Cutler.3 He died at Newport, RI, after 31 January 1725/26.

     William Whiting was named in the probate inventory of his father's estate in Hartford, Hartford, Conn on 5 November 1689.6,7 Joseph Whiting and William Whiting were uncle - nephew. Their wives were sisters.
