     Thomas Colton was born at Springfield, Hampden, Mass, on 1 May 1651.4 He married, first, in Springfield, Hampden, Mass, on 11 September 1677 Sarah Griswold, daughter of Matthew Griswold and Anna Wolcott.5 He married, second, in Springfield, Hampden, Mass, on 17 December 1691 Hannah Bliss, daughter of Lawrence Bliss and Lydia Wright.6 He died at Hampden, Mass, on 30 September 1728 at age 77; Springfield VRs give 30 Sep 1728.7 He was buried at Longmeadow Cemetery Longmeadow, Hampden, Mass, on 2 October 1728.8
